After 20+ years building and running customer support teams, I have worked with every type of BPO. Big offshore teams, boutique nearshore firms, specialized agencies. Across all of them, the same issues kept showing up: Substandard hiring and training, Quality monitoring was ineffective, Overload of simple escalations, etc. I spent more time managing the BPO than I would have just building the team in-house!
